CHAIRMAN, SENATOR YARI’S POLITICAL ORGANISATION APPLAUDS CONFERMENT OF PRESTIGIOUS TRADITIONAL TITLE OF MARAFAN SAKKWATO ON SENATOR YARI 10-11-24
By Sadiq Aminu The Chairman, Senator Abdul’azeez Yari Political Organisation, Alhaji Lawal Liman has applauded the conferment of prestigious traditional title of MARAFAN SAKKWATO on Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar by his Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alh. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar.
In a statement by the Chairman, Publicity Committee of the Organization, Ibrahim Muhammad Danmadamin Birnin Magaji while reacting to the appointment made on Saturday, November 9, 2024 Via a document from the Sultan Palace duly signed by the Ɗanburan Sakkwato and Secretary to the Sultanate Council, Alhaji Sa’idu Muhammad Macciɗo, expressed the organisation’s gratitude over the development.
Alhaji Lawal Liman explained that, the honour was not meant for the appointee and his family a lone, but to the organisation, his associates as well as the entire people of Zamfara State.
“The honour would go a long way in solidifying the existing relationship established by the late Marafan Sakkwato, Alhaji Umaru Aliyu Shinkafi between Zamfara , a tributary State under the Center of the Caliphate and the entire Sakkwato Caliphate”
Alhaji Liman noted that, the appointment was a further testimony to the historical antecedent of the new Marafa’s family strong ties with the founders of the revered Sakkwato Caliphate, being a scion of Abdu Yari, the son of Ƙayayen Mafara Ali Mayaƙi bn Ƙayaye Gurma who was the first Ƙayayen Mafara.
He affirmed that, during the Jihad of the famous 19th Century Islamic Reformer, Sheikh Uthman Bn Fodio (RA), the Ƙayaye Ali Mayaƙi’s family had exhibited a great deal of loyalty, commitment and bravery to the jihadists, thereby enhancing their successes, especially in the then Zamfara Area.
According to him, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, the new Marafan Sakkwato has demonstrated sterling leadership qualities before, during and after his Eight year rule of Zamfara State
He said it was an indication of his strong, positive parental background, saying that, the appointee would justify the confidence reposed in him by his Eminence the Sultan, the Sultanate Council and the entire Ummah of the Sakkwato Caliphate.
While wishing him a very fruitful tenure as one of the most important traditional title holder in the Sultanate Council, Hon. Lawal M Liman assured him of the organisation’s continued loyalty, support and encouragement at all times.
