AN ALLIED AIR CARGO AIRCRAFT SKIDDED OFF THE RUNWAY AT NNAMDI AZIKIWE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN ABUJA                                                                                    11-12-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                  An Allied Air Cargo aircraft with registration number 5N-JRT this morning at 10:05 skidded off the Runway at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

Five persons on board were safely evacuated with no reported injury and taken to the FAAN clinic for further checks.

According to a statement by the spokesperson of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria FAAN Mrs obiageli orah, the Airport Emergency response team arrive the scene along with accident investigators.

While the runway is being cleared and is expected to reopen for operations as soon as possible.

She requested that all speculation be put on hold until the preliminary report is released by the Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB).

The Authority thanked the aviation community and the general public for their understanding and patience.
