By Sadiq Aminu                                                                   The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC Mallam Shehu Mohammed says adequate training has been provided for officers and men on new traffic techniques for effective traffic control across the country.

Speaking on the activities of the Corps in the last Seven months, Mallam Shehu Mohammed said personnel have undergone series of capacity building trainings to enable the Corps achieve Fifty percent reduction in road accidents in accordance with the United Nations Decade of Action on Road Safety 2021 to 2030.

He commended President Bola Tinubu for the immense support to the Corps, particularly in the provision of logistics and improved welfare packages, which are the motivating factors for achieving reduction in road accidents in the country.

The Corps Marshal stressed that FRSC would continue to strengthen its collaboration with sister and paramilitary agencies to make the road safer for socio economic activities across the country.

According to him, the present administration has invested in road rehabilitation and construction to ease transportation of goods and services.

The FRSC Boss therefore appealed to the motoring public to give maximum support and stop attacking personnel in the course of carrying out official their assignments.

According to Mallam Shehu Mohammed, the increased assaults on FRSC officials will no longer be tolerated as adequate measures have been put in place to report any FRSC official that exhibits unprofessional conduct during patrol to the appropriate authority.

He assured officers and men that the Corps would place high premium on their welfare as legal action will be used to protect officers and men whose rights were abused by traffic offenders.
