250 SENIOR CITIZENS IN LAGOS BENEFIT FROM FIRST LADY, OLUREMI TINUBU’S  ELDERLY SUPPORT SCHEME                                                                                                      17-12-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 Two hundred and fifty senior citizens in Lagos State have received two hundred thousand naira each under the second edition of the Elderly Support Scheme.

The Scheme is a Social Investment Programme under the Renewed Hope Initiative, a pet project of the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

This year’s theme is, “Total Wellness: Happy, Healthy and Prosperous Lifestyle.”

At the ceremony at the Lagos House, Ikeja, the wife of the Lagos State Governor, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, who read Senator Tinubu’s message said the grant doubled what was given to each senior citizen last year.

She urged the senior citizens to prioritize their health even as they celebrate in the festive season.

A total of one billion, nine hundred million naira is disbursed across the thirty-six states of the federation, the Federal Capital Territory as well as the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association.
