FEDERAL UNIVERSITY GUSAU MATRICULATES TWO THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY NINE STUDENTS                                                                                                                23-02-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                         The Federal University Gusau has matriculated two thousand two hundred and twenty nine students for 2023/2024 academic session.

At the 11th Matriculation ceremony since the establishment of the university in 2013, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Mu’azu Abubakar Gusau said despite security challenges in Zamfara state, the University witnesses an increase in number of students looking for admission every year.

He explained that the University has given priority to Science and Science related programs in compliance with the Federal Government directives on Science to Humanity students ratio of 60:40.

According to Prof. Mu’azu, Federal University Gusau has commenced programs in the Collage of Health Sciences with 97 and 34 students to study MBBS and Dental Surgery respectively.

Addressing the matriculating students Dean, Students’ Affairs Dr Mu’awiyya Umar Ladan, called on the students to shun cultism, examination malpractice, drug abuse and other social vices, saying degrees are conferred on graduands who are found Worthy in both character and learning.

Some of the matriculating students who spoke with Afriva247 expressed happiness and promised to focus on their studies and maintain the good image of the University.
