POLICE COMMAND IN ANAMBRA STATE ARRESTS A SUSPECT WITH LOCALLY MADE BERETTA PISTOL DURING A FOOT PATROL IN THE AREA                                                                                         20-02-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                 The Police Command in Anambra State has arrested a suspect with locally made Beretta pistol during a foot patrol in the area.

The Operatives attached to Awada Divisional Headquarters while conducting a routine foot patrol at Upper -Iweka in Onitsha intercepted and arrested one Chigozie Orji.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga in a release, said upon a search, operatives recovered a locally fabricated Beretta pistol concealed inside a bag.

He explained that preliminary investigations suggested that the suspect might be involved in criminal activities within the area.

The Police Image Maker said the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Awka, for further investigation and necessary legal action.

Mr Ikenga said, the Police Command remained committed to ensuring the safety and security of residents, while urging members of the public to continue to providing useful information that could aid law enforcement efforts in tackling crime in the area.
