TINUBU DIRECTS INSPECTION OF ALL ROADS PROJECTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY                                                                                                                  18-03-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                      The Federal Ministry of Works has embarked on a Road projects monitoring and supervision of major highways across the country.

Speaking to newsmen in Sokoto, the Minister of state, Muhammad Bello Goranyo said the supervision was a directive by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu aimed at ensuring quality assurance on all projects in the Country.

Goranyo explained that the monitoring team is in Sokoto to supervised the ongoing Illaila- Badagry Coastal highway and Sokoto- zamfara to zaria road duallization project in the North West.

He explained that the sokoto-Gusau to Zaria which is a one line asphalt road is now going to be change into a rigid pavement with reinforced concrete and dualised.

The Minister noted that although it is capitally intensive, the reinforced concrete road is a longlasting project that could last upto fifty to hundred years.

He stressed that as the project is going on, president Tinubu also directed that the existing road must be rehabilitated to cushion the plight of Nigerians plying the road.

Goranyo further said the inspection team will move to Katsina, Kano and Kaduna to inspect other major roads projects by the FG.

Muhammad Bello Goranyo disclosed that the FG had also re-awarded contract for the completion of Abuja-Kaduna to Kano express way stressing that already FG had paid the contractor handling the road thirty percent mobilisation to enable the company commence the completion of the road.

He noted that others major highways currently ongoing includes Lagos to Calabar coastal highway and the road crossing Benue, plateau, Bauchi and Gombe states.

According to him, the present administration through the renewed hope agenda is completing all inherited projects to justified the trust reposed on the present government.
