N350M APPROVED FOR REVAMPING OF MORIBUND BOREYHOLES IN JOS NORTH AND SOUTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS OF PLATEAU STATE 25-03-25
By Sadiq Aminu Three hundred and fifty million naira has been approved for the revamping of Moribund boreholes in Jos North and South Local Government Areas of Plateau State.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang made this known at a State Dinner organized for Breaking of Fast, with the Muslims Ummah held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.
Governor Mutfwang described Ramadan Fasting as a spiritual exercise aimed at cleansing one’s self from all acts of sins.
He stressed that the breaking of the fast was an avenue for all to come together towards finding lasting solutions to lasting peace and tolerance.
Governor Mutfwang encouraged the Muslim ummah to ensure that the current peace being enjoyed in the state is maintained and tasked them to ensure that eras were anxiety and fear overwhelmed residents were put to rest.
The Governor however acknowledged the challenges of water supply affecting some parts of Jos North and South LGAs, stressing that efforts are underway to address the situation.
He also pleaded with them to support the recently signed Executive order suspending mining activities in the state and encouraged them to support the education of the girl child.
Chief of staff to the Governor, Jerry Satmark while welcoming the Muslim ummah, expressed believe that the breaking of the fast will lead to more tolerance, respect and understanding of each other’s Faith.
Speaking briefly on the Topic: Importance of peaceful coexistence amongst different religions, Chief missioner of JNI in Jos North LGA, Shiekh Mustapha Gwarando noted that, God’s creation for mankind was not a mistake, rather a deliberate action , hence the need for tolerance.
The State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Rev Father Polycarp Lubo, charged the faithfuls not to always believe solely on the teachings of their religious leaders but that of the Holy Qur’an for their guidance and spiritual growth.
The Emir of Kanam HRH Babangida Ibrahim represented by Alh. Garba Abdulqadir appreciated the Governor for obeying God’s instruction and his role in ensuring continuous peaceful coexistence.
He pledged the support of the ummah in ensuring that a peaceful atmosphere needed for development of the state is maintained
The event was attended by top government officials, security chiefs, religious leaders of both faiths, youths and various community leaders drawn from the 17 LGAs of the State.
