Speaker Abbas Distributes 22 SUVs to Kaduna Traditional Rulers

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Tajudeen Abbas, has donated 22 new Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to first- and second-class traditional rulers in Kaduna State.

The handover ceremony, held at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna, was attended by Governor Uba Sani and other senior officials.

Dr. Abbas said the gesture fulfilled a promise made to the governor, emphasizing his commitment to strengthening traditional institutions. He noted that the vehicles would support the rulers in their community roles, adding that this was the second phase of the initiative, following an earlier distribution in Zaria during Ramadan.

The Speaker reaffirmed the National Assembly’s plan to elevate the roles of traditional rulers through the ongoing constitutional amendment process. He also mentioned the establishment of a dedicated House committee on traditional institutions, chaired by Hon. Abdulmumini Ari Muhammad.

Governor Sani commended the Speaker’s interventions and assured continued collaboration. He urged the traditional rulers to use the vehicles to promote peace and unity within their domains.
