DANGOTE PLEDGES N15 BN FOR MODERN FACILITIES AT ALIKO DANGOTE UNIVERSITY                                                                                            10-05-25

By Sadiq Aminu.                                                                 Aliko Dangote, Chancellor of Aliko Dangote University of Technology Wudil, has pledged to spend N15 billion on the construction of modern facilities in the next five years.

Dangote made the announcement during his inaugural speech as the Chancellor for the second time, which took place during the university’s convocation ceremony.

The facilities to be constructed include modern engineering labs, a befitting Senate building, and a solar power plant to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the university community.

Dangote also promised automatic employment in Dangote Group of companies to the best graduating students.

Justice Abdu Aboki, Pro-Chancellor of the university, appreciated Dangote’s magnanimity, saying it would bring a modern developmental atmosphere to the university.

He noted that the university is working hard to produce graduates with expertise in both character and learning.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai, said the convocation ceremony is a celebration of hard work and resilience.

He noted that the seven combined convocation witnessed the graduation of over 18,000 students.

The Vice-Chancellor also commended the Kano State government for settling the university’s backlog of over N100 million and for completing all abandoned projects on campus.

The Vice-Chancellor explained that the choice of personalities conferred with honorary doctorate degrees was based on merit and their immense contributions to the development of Kano State and the nation.

He also noted that all 45 courses run by the university are fully accredited by the National University Commission (NUC).

“The University’s researchers have gained international and global recognition”

The Vice-Chancellor commended the commitment of the state government to supporting the university development.

Those Conferred with Honourary Doctorate Degrees were Alhaji Dahiru Mangal, Prince Athor Eze, Dr Adeniyi Raji SAN and Senator Rabiu Musa kwankwaso who is the founder of the University.

The ceremony attracted personalities from different parts of the federation.
