By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has secured the conviction of Mr. Iyonu Eseme, a staff of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), for using a forged Trade Test Certificate to get a job.

Eseme was arraigned before Justice M.I. Tanko of the FCT High Court, Abuja, on a three-count charge of forgery. He opted for a plea bargain through his lawyer, which was accepted by the ICPC.

Justice Tanko convicted and fined him ₦50,000.

The ICPC reaffirmed its stance against forgery and corruption in public service.
