Governor Abdullahi Sule has approved ₦300 million as counterpart funding for the take-off of the Nigeria Climate Adaptation, Erosion and Watershed Project (NEWMAP), supported by the European Investment Bank (EIB), in Nasarawa State.

State NEWMAP-EIB Coordinator, Dr. Mohammad Ismail, confirmed this during a visit by the Debt Management Office (DMO) team in Lafia. He noted that although the project is yet to begin, the state has fulfilled all requirements for its launch.

The visit, led by Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Budget, and Planning, Paulinus Wahe, aimed to review loan-funded projects and enhance collaboration on the NEWMAP-EIB initiative.
