KANO POLICE ASSURE VOTERS OF SAFETY AHEAD OF RE-RUN, BYE-ELECTIONS……………

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Kano State Police Command has assured residents of maximum security ahead of Saturday’s re-run and by-elections in Ghari/Tsanyawa and Bagwai/Shanono constituencies.

Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, said all security measures are in place to ensure a peaceful, free, and credible exercise. He stressed that movement in the affected areas will be restricted from midnight Friday until 6:00 p.m. on election day, except for essential services and accredited officials.

The Police also warned against weapons, political attire, and loitering around polling units, noting that vigilante groups and traffic agencies will not be allowed at voting centers.

Bakori assured that security agencies remain neutral and urged residents to cooperate for a smooth and violence-free election.
