ZAMFARA GOVT DISMISSES APC CLAIMS……..

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Zamfara State Government has denied allegations by the All Progressives Congress (APC) that it plans to use the banned vigilante group, Yan Sakai, to manipulate the upcoming State House of Assembly bye-election in Kaura Namoda.

Governor Dauda Lawal’s aide, Mustapha Jafaru Kaura, described the claims as baseless and politically motivated. He said the administration has never used thugs or vigilantes in elections, stressing that its politics is built on credibility and democratic values.

Kaura accused the APC of fabricating lies out of fear of losing the poll, challenging them to present evidence to support their claim. He added that Governor Lawal has been focused on visiting communities recently attacked by bandits, not mobilising thugs.

The bye-election will be held on Saturday in Kaura Namoda South Constituency.
