OVER 100 SUSPECTED THUGS ARRESTED IN KANO RERUN ELECTIONS……….

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The police in Kano have arrested more than 100 suspected thugs for attempting to disrupt the rerun elections in Bagwai Local Government Area.

Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ambassador Abdu Zango, confirmed the arrests during a monitoring visit, noting that election materials arrived on time in most polling units, except in a few places where vehicle breakdowns caused delays.

He said some suspects tried to snatch ballot boxes but were quickly stopped by security operatives. Zango praised the police for their strong presence and assured voters that INEC remains committed to a transparent and credible process.

The rerun elections in Bagwai/Shanono and Ghari/Tsanyawa are being held after a court nullified previous results.
