NSIB PROBES ABUJA- KADUNA TRAIN DERAILMENT, SIX INJURED

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has opened an investigation into the derailment of a Kaduna-bound passenger train along the Abuja–Kaduna rail corridor, between Kubwa Station and Asham Station.

According to a statement from the Director of Public Affairs and Family Assistance, Mrs. Bimbo Oladeji, six passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries, but no fatalities were recorded.

A rapid response team of investigators has been deployed to the accident site to collect evidence, examine the scene, and begin a comprehensive probe into the incident.

NSIB expressed sympathy to the injured passengers and assured affected individuals of its full support. The Bureau emphasized that the investigation will seek to uncover both the immediate and underlying causes of the derailment, ultimately leading to safety recommendations aimed at preventing future accidents.
