INEC URGES SUPPORT FOR VOTER REGISTRATION IN GOMBE

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

INEC in Gombe State has called on stakeholders to step up support for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).

Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Sa’ad Umar Idris, revealed that only about 4,000 people have registered in four weeks, while over 62,000 PVCs remain uncollected. He urged political parties, civil society groups, and traditional leaders to intensify voter education, stressing that INEC alone cannot achieve the task.

The Emir of Gombe, through a representative, pledged the emirate’s commitment to raising awareness. Stakeholders also assured full support for the exercise.
