ARCN EXECUTIVE SECRETARY, DR. DABBAN, INDUCTED INTO HALL OF FAME FOR INTEGRITY

The Executive Secretary of the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN), Dr. Abubakar Adamu Dabban, has been honoured with a Hall of Fame Award by the Zero Tolerance for Corruption Association in recognition of his commitment to integrity and transparent leadership.

The award ceremony, held in Abuja, saw the association’s president, Aminu Abass, describe Dr. Dabban as “reliable, unstoppable, and a workaholic,” stressing that these qualities influenced the group’s decision to induct him into its prestigious Hall of Fame.

According to Abass, the honour was not only to celebrate Dr. Dabban’s stance against corruption but also to acknowledge his remarkable achievements within just two months of assuming office as ARCN’s chief executive. He added that the association viewed the integrity of the council as crucial to the country’s progress, given its central role in coordinating agricultural research and institutions nationwide.

“We believe if this institution is corrupt, then Nigeria is not safe. Your leadership assures us of transparency, and your efforts will impact not just Abuja but all states where agricultural institutes are located,” Abass said while presenting Dr. Dabban with a golden medal.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Dabban expressed surprise at the recognition, noting that the award was both an honour and a heavy responsibility. He reaffirmed his commitment to upholding accountability, insisting that his administration would not tolerate business as usual but instead prioritize adherence to rules and protocols for the sector’s growth.

“You have given me a big task, which is to uphold the integrity of this council and of Nigeria at large. I assure you that transparency, fairness, and due process will remain our guiding principles,” he said.

Dr. Dabban also urged Nigerian youths to embrace integrity in their personal and professional lives, stressing that the future of the country depended on transparent leadership at all levels. He further pledged to support the association’s future activities, including its upcoming magazine project.

Giving closing remarks, Mr. Isaiah Olugbade, Acting Director of Extension and Socio-Economic Department at ARCN, applauded the recognition, describing it as timely. He commended the Executive Secretary’s leadership style, which he said has already boosted staff morale and enhanced productivity within the council.

The event was attended by the association’s executive members, who emphasized their continued support for the ARCN leadership in ensuring accountability within Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
