By; Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has kicked off the second phase of the Renewed Hope Initiative in Gusau, Zamfara State. The programme will train 41,307 Nigerians in 30 skill areas including agriculture, ICT, entrepreneurship, and vocational trades.

NDE DG Silas Ali Agara said the scheme aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to create jobs, grow the economy, and reduce poverty. He noted that the first phase trained 32,692 Nigerians, with thousands resettled through starter packs and loans.

The second phase will see 14,457 trainees receive starter packs, while all participants are expected to gain practical skills to boost self-reliance and community development.

Participants expressed gratitude, describing the programme as a rare opportunity to fight unemployment and empower women and youths nationwide.
