By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has called on State Commissioners for Information to use strategic communication in promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance at the state and local government levels.

Speaking at a roundtable in Abuja, ICPC Chairman Dr. Musa Aliyu stressed that corruption remains a major obstacle to Nigeria’s development and urged massive communication efforts to drive transparency.

Borno State Commissioner for Information, Prof. Usman Tar, pledged support on behalf of his colleagues, while FRCN DG, Dr. Mohammed Bulama, assured partnership with government and civil society to tackle corruption and poverty. Lawmakers also promised legislative backing for the anti-corruption drive.
