ZAMFARA APC MARAFA FACTION MEMBERS, REAFFIRM LOYALTY DESPITE LEADER’S EXIT

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) loyal to Senator Kabiru Marafa in Zamfara have declared their commitment to stay in the party despite their leader’s defection.

At a meeting in Gusau, former faction secretary Abubakar Sadiq said their decision was unanimous, stressing they would continue under the leadership of former governors Abdul’aziz Yari and Bello Matawalle.

Faction leader Abdulkadir Mijin Yawa added that they had resolved to end divisions and fully support the APC.

State APC chairman Tukur Danfulani, represented by the secretary, praised their decision, while publicity secretary Yusuf Idris described it as a boost to party unity ahead of the 2027 elections. He assured the returning members of fair treatment, emphasizing reconciliation and inclusiveness.

On Senator Marafa’s defection, Idris said the party had not received any formal resignation letter and remains focused on strengthening its structure rather than courting distractions.
