The Network of Anti-Corruption Institutions in West Africa (NACIWA) has re-elected the Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, as its President. The decision was made during the 7th Annual General Assembly (AGA) held in Abuja on October 15, 2025.
Member states praised Olukoyede for his leadership and commitment to fighting cross-border corruption. The Assembly also adopted the ECOWAS Guidelines on Borderless Investigations, Asset Tracing, Recovery, and Management to strengthen regional cooperation and harmonize anti-corruption efforts.
NACIWA reaffirmed its commitment to key international and regional anti-corruption conventions and urged stronger collaboration among member states, law enforcement agencies, and civil society.
The Assembly coincided with ECOWAS’ 50th anniversary and expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support and for opening the session. Tinubu called for the designation of resource theft and illegal mining as international crimes to protect the region’s peace and prosperity.
New members, including Nigeria’s Code of Conduct Bureau and CPC Cabo Verde, were admitted into the network.
