NASARAWA GOVT SHUTS LAFIA MODERN MARKET OVER POOR SANITATION

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Nasarawa State Government has closed the Lafia Modern Market for failing to maintain proper hygiene.

Commissioner for Environment, Princess Margaret Elayo, said the decision followed repeated warnings ignored by traders. She noted that the market would remain shut until it is thoroughly cleaned and made safe for business.

Traders have expressed disappointment but agreed to cooperate with the government to restore cleanliness.
