COURT HALTS PDP NATIONAL CONVENTION IN IBADAN

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

A Federal High Court in Abuja has stopped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from holding its national convention, which was scheduled to take place in Ibadan, Oyo State, on the 15th and 16th of November next year.

Justice James Omotosho, who presided over the case, ruled that the PDP failed to follow the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and its own party rules.
