The Federal Government has started disbursing the Tertiary Institution Staff Support Fund (TISSF), with over 9,000 staff benefiting in the first year, representing 28% of 33,000 verified applicants from 219 tertiary institutions nationwide.

According to Mrs. Folasade Boriowo, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Education, the Ministry remains committed to transparency, accountability, and regular reporting to ensure the fund improves staff welfare, motivation, and institutional performance while supporting more beneficiaries in future cycles.

Minister of Education, Dr. Olatunji Alausa, said the initiative is restoring dignity, rewarding dedication, and rebuilding Nigeria’s knowledge economy.

Launched in August, the TISSF, part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, offers staff interest-free loans of up to ₦10 million to meet essential needs such as housing, education, healthcare, mobility, and small business support.
