JALINGO-NUMAN ROAD ABANDONED AS USERS DECRY NEGLECT

For over twenty years, the 103.559-kilometre Jalingo–Numan Road linking northern Taraba and southern Adamawa remains in a terrible state. The dilapidated condition has claimed lives and destroyed property worth billions.
In 2017, the Federal Government awarded the road’s reconstruction to Deux Project Limited for ₦11.65 billion, with a 20-month completion target. Eight years later, barely three percent has been done, and no construction equipment is on-site.
Frustrated road users lament the hardship and call on President Bola Tinubu and the governments of Adamawa and Taraba states to urgently intervene and fix the road.
Many hope the authorities will finally act to restore the road, crucial for trade and movement across the Northeast.
