JEGA POLICE BURSTS SYNDICATE OF NETWORK INSTALLATION VANDALS

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Kebbi State Police Command has uncovered a syndicate of suspected vandals targeting network installations in Jega Local Government Area.

Police spokesperson, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, revealed that officers acted on credible intelligence after spotting a suspicious ash-colored Ford Sharon vehicle with registration number ABJ-581-HL wandering around Jega town.

Upon swift response, police arrested one Abdullahi Muhammad from Durbawa, Sokoto State. A search of the vehicle uncovered tools used for vandalism, including spanners, cutters, hammers, and a solar panel.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to vandalizing network batteries across Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, Niger, and Nasarawa States. He also named accomplices, Nasiru Galashi, Yahuza, and Aminu, who remain at large.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Birnin Kebbi, for further investigation and to ensure the arrest of the remaining suspects.
