POLICE ARREST MAN OVER ALLEGED ORGAN HARVESTING IN NASARAWA

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Police in Nasarawa have arrested 40-year-old Maro Ebojoh for allegedly recruiting kidney donors and attempting to move them out of the state. Four victims, aged 20 to 33, were rescued during the arrest at a bus terminal in Lafia.

Police Commissioner Shettima Jauro Mohammed said Ebojoh travelled from Delta State to find donors, took them for medical tests, and moved one victim to Abuja for a planned transplant before complications stalled the procedure. Security operatives later rescued the victim safely.

The suspect allegedly admitted he was to be paid ₦6.5 million for the deal and had already received ₦500,000. He also claimed he previously arranged another donor, earning ₦1 million.

In another case, police arrested ten armed-robbery suspects in Mararaba, who reportedly confessed to multiple attacks, including one that killed a police officer’s son.

All suspects have been transferred to the SCID for further investigation.
