By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

President Bola Tinubu has extended warm felicitations to former President Goodluck Jonathan on his 68th birthday, describing him as a leader whose humility and statesmanship continue to uplift Nigeria’s democratic journey.

President Tinubu praised Dr. Jonathan’s notable contributions to nation-building, especially his unforgettable role in the historic 2015 election, where he ensured a peaceful transfer of power, an act that strengthened Nigeria’s global image as a growing democracy.

He also reflected on past interactions with the former President, acknowledging the moments of support and counsel that marked Jonathan’s rise to leadership, including the events of 2010 and the 2011 presidential election.

President Tinubu lauded Dr. Jonathan’s ongoing influence across Africa, where he continues to champion democratic values through high-level diplomatic assignments.

He prayed for continued blessings, good health, and prosperity for Dr. Jonathan, his wife Patience, and their family.
