AKPABIO UNVEILS NIGERIA’S COUNTER-TERRORISM STRATEGIC PLAN 2025–2030

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has launched Nigeria’s Counter-Terrorism Strategic Plan for 2025–2030, developed by the National Counter Terrorism Centre under the Office of the NSA.

Akpabio described the plan as a turning point for Nigeria, saying it provides a clear path to strengthen security institutions, modernise security operations, and build national resilience. He noted that insecurity continues to undermine development, push away investors, and weaken communities.

NSA Nuhu Ribadu, represented by Maj. Gen. Adamu Laka, said the plan was produced through extensive research and collaboration across government, security agencies, academia, civil society, and international partners. The goal is to position the National Counter Terrorism Centre as a regional hub for combating terrorism and violent extremism.
