SOUTHEAST REPS URGE TINUBU TO PARDON NNAMDI KANU

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Southeast Caucus of the House of Representatives has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to grant a political and humanitarian pardon to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu under Section 175 of the Constitution.

Speaking in Abuja, the lawmakers said Kanu’s release would ease tension in the region, open room for dialogue, and help restore peace. They stressed that his continued detention has fueled fear, disrupted daily life, and deepened agitation across the Southeast.

The Caucus urged the President to consider the request as an act of national healing and unity while calling on citizens to remain calm and law-abiding.
