NORTHERN GROUP CONDEMNS SENATOR MARAFA’S U.S. INVASION REMARK

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Northern Elders’ Political Forum has strongly condemned former Zamfara Senator Kabiru Marafa for suggesting a U.S. intervention in Nigeria over security issues. The group described the statement as reckless, unpatriotic, and dangerous, urging the DSS to investigate and potentially arrest him.

National Coordinator Malam Yusuf Abubakar called the remark “ridiculous” and likened it to a sign of mental instability. He stressed that political leaders and Northern governors should focus on addressing insecurity and poverty rather than making provocative statements.

Abubakar also praised the federal government’s efforts, particularly Operation Fasan Yamma, and encouraged traditional and religious leaders to pray for the nation while rejecting calls to remove the Defence Minister.
