NIGERIA, SAUDI ARABIA SIGN DEFENCE COOPERATION MOU

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Nigeria and Saudi Arabia have signed a new MoU to boost defence and military collaboration.
Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle, and Saudi Assistant Minister for Executive Affairs, Dr. Khaled Al-Biyari, signed on behalf of both nations.

Matawalle said the agreement will strengthen Nigeria’s defence system and improve the capacity of the armed forces. The MoU runs for five years, with room for renewal.

It covers cooperation in training, joint exercises, intelligence sharing, logistics, and technical support.
