FG LAUNCHES GAS TRADING LICENSE PLATFORM

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Federal Government has unveiled the Gas Trading License, Clearing House & Settlement Authorisation platform to boost transparency and efficiency in Nigeria’s gas market.

Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, said the initiative aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and strengthens key policies such as the Decade of Gas and the Presidential CNG Initiative.

Developed by the NMDPRA, the platform offers secure, automated gas trading with transparent pricing and faster transactions, supporting investment growth in the sector.

NMDPRA Chief Executive Farouk Ahmed said the system will enhance market access, liquidity, and global best practices. Security agencies and lawmakers also pledged support for stronger gas infrastructure and regulation.
