ABIA GOV SET TO LAUNCH 20 ELECTRIC BUSES, BOOST TECH SECTOR

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has announced the launch of 20 electric 40-seater buses to ease commuter challenges. The buses, featuring advanced safety systems and a 400km range, are part of a broader plan, with another 20 expected next year.

The state also assented to the Start-Up Bill, implementing the Nigerian Start-Up Act 2022 to promote innovation, tech startups, and digital skills. This year, 850 youths will graduate from the Abia Tech Rise ICT training, bringing total graduates to 1,399.

Authorities assured residents of heightened security during the festive season, urging vigilance and cooperation with law enforcement.
