IMO ELDERLY RECEIVE ₦200,000 EACH UNDER RENEWED HOPE INITIATIVE

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Two hundred and fifty elderly persons drawn from across Imo State have received ₦200,000 each under the Renewed Hope Initiative of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

Speaking at the disbursement in Owerri, Mrs Tinubu said the support, introduced in 2023, is meant to bring relief and joy to vulnerable senior citizens, especially during the festive season. She stressed the need for society to care for the elderly who devoted their active years to building the nation.

Represented by the Wife of the Imo State Governor, Mrs Chioma Uzodimma, the First Lady urged beneficiaries to prioritise their health and embrace joyful ageing. The elderly recipients expressed gratitude for the gesture, describing it as timely and thoughtful, as they also benefited from free medical services at the venue.
