REPS VOW THOROUGH SCRUTINY OF NDDC 2025 BUDGET

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The House of Representatives has assured Niger Delta communities that the 2025 budget of the Niger Delta Development Commission will face strict scrutiny to ensure it delivers real and measurable impact. Lawmakers said the days of routine approvals are over, stressing that every provision must translate into visible development and value for money.

At the budget defence in Abuja, the House committee on NDDC reaffirmed its commitment to a people-focused budget aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, with emphasis on transparency, accountability, and sustainable growth across the region.

The NDDC management presented a ₦1.75 trillion proposal for 2025, explaining that the plan reflects fiscal discipline, a shift toward sector-based funding, and a focus on transformational development without new borrowing.
