SHETTIMA LEADS PRAYERS FOR FALLEN HEROES, SEEKS LASTING PEACE

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Vice President Kashim Shettima has expressed optimism that Nigeria will attain lasting peace and prosperity with divine support.

Speaking after a Special Juma’at Prayer at the Abuja National Mosque to mark the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day, Shettima prayed for the souls of fallen officers and men who died defending the nation. He also asked for strength for their families and divine protection for the Armed Forces as they confront security challenges.

The prayer session, led by the Imam of the Abuja National Mosque, Professor Khalid Aliyu Abubakar, was part of nationwide religious activities held in honour of serving and fallen military personnel.
