By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Tragedy struck Kano State as a child and a young man lost their lives after falling into separate wells in Madobi and Ghari Local Government Areas.

The Kano State Fire Service confirmed that a two-year-old boy, Sa’idu Ahmad, drowned after falling into a well in Kwankwaso town, Madobi LGA. He was rescued unconscious but later pronounced dead and handed over to the police.

In a similar incident at Karofawa Yan Kifi village in Ghari LGA, a 28-year-old man, Suleiman Sani, also fell into a well. He was rescued but later confirmed dead and released to the village head.

The Fire Service said investigations are ongoing and urged residents to properly cover wells to prevent future tragedies.
