By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Seven persons were injured after a building under construction collapsed at the Cathedral area of Akure, Ondo State capital, causing panic among residents. The incident happened near the former APC secretariat, prompting a swift response from emergency officials who rescued victims from the rubble.

The Ondo State Government has ordered an immediate investigation into the collapse, warning developers against the use of substandard materials and disregard for approved building standards. Authorities have sealed the site, while the injured victims are receiving treatment in nearby hospitals.
