The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has fixed March 11 as the official start date for political campaigns ahead of the Osun State governorship election.

The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Mutiu Agboke, disclosed this in Osogbo during an expanded stakeholders’ meeting, noting that the timeline will be formally communicated to political parties in line with the Electoral Act and INEC guidelines.

Dr. Agboke said campaign activities will begin as scheduled while INEC continues engagement with stakeholders to ensure proper briefing and adherence to campaign rules. He stressed the importance of cooperation among all parties to guarantee a credible electoral process, adding that stakeholders have expressed readiness to support the exercise.
