BORNO INAUGURATES 27 LG CHAIRMEN, KADAFUR DEMANDS ACCOUNTABILITY

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Borno State Acting Governor, Dr. Umar Usman Kadafur, has inaugurated 27 newly elected local government chairmen, charging them to prioritise security, accountability and grassroots development across the state.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony in Maiduguri, Kadafur urged the chairmen to be transparent in governance, remain within their local councils and emulate the leadership style of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum to drive development at the grassroots. He described the inauguration as another step in strengthening local governance under the current administration.

The chairmen, speaking through ALGON Chairman, Alhaji Ali Bolori, thanked the people for their mandate and pledged to deliver on their promises, expressing confidence that the extended tenure of local government officials will enhance service delivery.
