By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Zamfara State House of Assembly has dissolved all its standing committees and approved new capacity-building measures to enhance legislative effectiveness. The measures include developing a legislative agenda, oversight tools, and a budget research directorate, as well as staff training to boost transparency and accountability.

The motion, presented by House Majority Leader Bello Muhammad Mazawajje, received unanimous support from lawmakers. Speaker Bilyaminu Ismail Moriki praised the Assembly’s leadership and staff for their commitment, while also offering condolences over recent bandit attacks in the state. New committee compositions will be announced later.
