LAWMAKER SEEKS URGENT ACTION AFTER BANDITS KILL 17 FARMERS IN ZAMFARA

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

A member of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Maharazu Salisu, has called for urgent government intervention following a deadly bandit attack that claimed the lives of 17 farmers and left 10 others injured in Maradun Local Government Area.

The victims were reportedly attacked while working on their farms in Goron Namaye district, as armed bandits opened fire on farmers, causing panic and multiple casualties.

Reacting to the incident, Salisu urged federal and state authorities to intensify military operations against bandits and take the fight directly to their hideouts to prevent further attacks on farming communities.

The attack has sparked fresh concerns over insecurity in Zamfara, with local authorities warning of its impact on farming activities and food production in the state.
