SECURITY FORCES RECOVER 1,000 STOLEN LIVESTOCK, DEAL MAJOR BLOW TO BANDITS IN KOGI

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Security forces have recovered about 1,000 stolen livestock during coordinated operations against bandits and cattle-rustling syndicates across Kogi State, dealing a major setback to criminal groups operating in the state.

The Kogi State Government said the joint operation, involving the military, police, DSS and other security agencies, targeted criminal networks linked to cattle rustling. Several suspects were reportedly neutralised during the operation, while others fled, abandoning the stolen livestock.

The recovered animals have been secured and will be returned to their rightful owners after proper identification. Authorities said security operations are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects and dismantle criminal networks responsible for cattle rustling and other crimes across the state.
