ADC REJECTS COURT RULING REMOVING DAVID MARK-LED LEADERSHIP

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has rejected the Federal High Court judgment in Abuja removing the Senator David Mark-led leadership of the party.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, described the ruling as an attempt to weaken the opposition and undermine Nigerians’ democratic rights.
In a statement issued in Abuja, Abdullahi questioned the timing of the judgment, linking it to the party’s recent presidential campaign rally in Sokoto, which he said attracted massive support.
The ADC argued that the ruling contradicted an earlier judgment delivered by Justice Musa Liman on July 2, 2026, which affirmed the legitimacy of the Mark-led National Working Committee and directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise it.
The party maintained that a court of equal jurisdiction could not overturn the decision of another court of the same level.
It said it would challenge the ruling through available legal channels after obtaining a Certified True Copy of the judgment.
The ADC also urged its members nationwide to remain calm and law-abiding while the legal process continues.
