PRESIDENT TINUBU CALLS FOR CLOSER WORKING RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FEDERAL AND SUBNATIONAL GOVERNMENTS                                                                                                                            10-05-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                               The President made the call when he flagged off the dualisation of the Eighty Two Kilometer Minna- Bida Road in Niger State.

The initial contract for the Construction of the dual carriage way awarded in the year 2020 was to be completed in Eighteen dry months.

Though work has partially commenced, poor funding due to Past Government’s inability to meet the conditions set by the Islamic Development Bank and other partners hindered the release of resources for the completion of the project.

President Tinubu described as unprecedented the political will of Governor Bago to embark on massive infrastructural development and Agricultural innovations in the State.

The President represented by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris said such initiatives were inline with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda targeted at all sectors of the Economy which must be embraced by all.

In a goodwill message, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje said putting the right people at the helm is critical to nation building.

He expressed optimism that with the APC leadership under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigeria would surmount her challenges.

The Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago said he embarked on the road project to ease the difficulties faced by drivers and commuters plying the road.

He added that funds have been acquired to ensure that the project is executed speedily according to contractual agreement.

In their separate remarks, the Representatives of the Islamic Development Bank the co-sponsors of the dual carriage way, Alhaji Bashiru said socio-economic importance of the Road is enormous while the Lead Consultant handling the dualisation of the Minna-Bida project, Musa Nimrod said the project would be completed within two years.
