CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF SEEKS THE SUPPORT OF PRESIDENT TINUBU IN ENDING THE LINGERING INSECURITY IN THE COUNTRY                                                                           09-12-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                     The Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has sought the support of President Tinubu in ending the lingering insecurity in the country.

Speaking with State House correspondents after he met with the President in Abuja, Lieutenant General Oluyede said he would employ new methods of restoring security.

He specifically vowed to end the atrocities caused by the new terror group known as Lakurawa, saying that Nigeria will sustain her joint border patrol with the neighbouring Niger and Chad Republics to address the vulnerabilities allowing the terror group to infiltrate them.

The Chief of Army Staff said he also briefed the President on the ongoing military operations in Northwest and Northeast Regions, citing the successes recorded so far.
