KANO POLICE NABS MASTERMIND BEHIND KOFAR MATA THUGGERY                                                                                                             26-12-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                      The Kano State Police Command has arrested Kabiru Jamilu, a 21-year-old resident of Zango Quarters, Kano, identified as the mastermind behind the resurgence of Daba fighting between Kofar Mata and Zango youths.

In a statement signed by the police public relations officer inKano Superintendent Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa said the arrest took place on December 24, 2024, at approximately 8:40 pm, when a team of policemen deployed at Kofar Mata/Zango junction near Murtala Mohammed Specialists Hospital Kano, apprehended Jamilu.

The statement explained that Jamilu confessed to spearheading the fighting during preliminary investigations,Further investigations led to the arrest of Umar Garba, 32, a resident of Zango Quarters Kano, who was found in possession of a sharp long knife.

“Both suspects have been transferred to the Command’s Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.”

The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Salman Dogo Garba, has urged residents of Kofar Mata and Zango Quarters to cooperate with the Police by providing information to completely address the situation.
