By Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Hajiya Lami Fintiri, the First Lady of Adamawa State, has unveiled the ‘Every Home is a Garden’ initiative, aimed at promoting household farming and addressing food insecurity throughout the state.

Through her Fresh Air Pro-Life Empowerment Foundation (FAPEF), this program is part of the national Renewed Hope Initiative, led by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

At the launch event in Yola, Hajiya Fintiri highlighted the significance of home gardening in ensuring food security, empowering women, and supporting environmental sustainability. She expressed gratitude to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security for their partnership.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs, Neido Kofulto, and the Governor’s Adviser on Food Security, Dishi Kobe, commended the initiative for promoting self-reliance and enhancing livelihoods.

A documentary showcased local success stories, and top home gardeners received cash prizes of ₦300,000, ₦500,000, and ₦1 million.

The initiative encourages families to contribute to national food security, one garden at a time
